Biography
Alan Sherwood is a bartender and consultant, currently running Little Mercies and Ethyl in Crouch End.
He briefly worked at Hawksmoor Knightsbridge, and then at Peg+Patriot in Bethnal Green. After helping design and open Scout, Alan took the position of opening Bar Manager, the bar went on to win numerous awards and nominations, making it to 28th on the Worlds 50 Best Bar list.
Alan went on to work with Max and Noel Venning at Three Sheets, the critically acclaimed Dalston bar. He went on to help open Bar Three, in Spitalfields market and again took the management role, within 2 months it was listed as Timeout’s 3rd best bar in London.
In October 2018 the doors to Little Mercies opened, and has been regularly in the top 10 bars in London, and top 50 bars in the UK, was nominated for Regional Top 10 Best New Bar at Tales of the Cocktail. Mercies has won Most Sustainable Bar in the UK across multiple years and platforms.
Alan also develops and runs Ethyl, a software system designed to make bartenders and chefs lives better.
